Hodge Defense will become a big part of the NFL’s defense.
As a result, the Atlanta Falcons defense will have an expanded role in the 2017 season.
According to a tweet from Hodge defense analyst Nick Kroll, the defense is going to “start to add a lot of pieces that are very talented.”
It’s a move that is likely to lead to a significant boost to Atlanta’s overall defense.
The team is currently underperforming at the position, ranking 19th in total yards allowed, 29th in passing yards allowed and 19th against the pass.
It’s not exactly a great place to be in the league.
But Hodge is making sure that the Falcons’ talent isn’t overlooked.
According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the Falcons will not only be adding more depth to the defense, but they will also be adding a much-needed defensive anchor.
This is not a move for the faint of heart.
While some fans might be happy to see the Falcons defense take a step back, many others may find Hodge’s move to Atlanta to be a bad one.
This is not the first time Hodge has made moves to improve the team.
The Falcons were already taking a step forward in 2017, so it’s possible that this move is just a marketing ploy.
After all, it’s been a year since the Falcons were in the top half of the league in total defense.
But with the added depth, it could be a step in the right direction.
